Tagrisso 80mg is a medicine used for treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Non-small cell lung cancer is a disorder caused due to mutation of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor EGFR T790M. It is the preferred choice of drug for an advanced level of cancer that has spread or is spreading to other parts of the body.
Tagrisso uses a small molecule inhibitor of tyrosine kinase. So, it can also be used as an alternative treatment for patients who have stopped responding to earlier treatments with other tyrosine kinase inhibitors. The drug targets the mutant tumors that have the gene of L858R and exon 19 EGFR. It fights against the action of abnormal growth of the Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor EGFR T790M.
