Robots: Your future doctor?

Artificial Intelligence is paving its way into people’s lives so easily. From being applied in streaming apps to building and operating a robot, AI has proved its vast potential. It won’t be surprising if robots started replacing our daily routines and the way we work. From Siri writing an email with Alexa to robots performing surgeries on humans, AI has made all our imaginations true. While AI has already shown prospects in automating certain jobs, but still such big changes are around the corner. AI is taking over the medical industry with its AI-driven applications. It will be no surprise if it took over even the Best Cardiologists in India and the world.

With the ongoing pandemic, we have realized the importance of a very efficient healthcare system and the health of our healthcare professionals. A small task like turning the patient over, for them to sleep on stomach for proning (this process has proved to be very helpful for patients struggling to breathe), requires at least two assistants. Administering the covid testing also requires a lot of time and often causes mistakes due to the lack of precision, and exhaustion by the professionals. In big surgeries that last for hours, doctors tend to get exhausted and with that, backup professionals have to be ready. With the introduction of robots, we can make sure of precision and force. Though there is still a long way to go for robots to be developed to handle surgeries, they can be easily used as assistants to provide support and do the lesser precise jobs.

How robotic surgeries and treatments can be our future?

Different robots around the USA and Europe are being developed to perform robotic surgeries. With proper experimentation and development, robots can easily be used to do surgeries overlooked by professionals. It is because of the following reasons:

● Fewer complications, such as surgical site infection

● Less pain and blood loss

● Quicker recovery

● Smaller, less noticeable scars

Robots and AI can have large amounts of data and hence, are more efficient to predict patient outcomes enhancing clinical productivity. But, at the same time, it lacks human sense and decision-making and still requires human expertise in the interpretation of data and recommendations.

But overall, AI can enhance clinical productivity due to its ability to handle a large capacity of tasks that are well suited for automation. It can also reduce the burden of clerical work of physician’s thus improving the quality of care and allow them to spend more time with patients and the healthcare team. Hence, seeing robots as your doctor can really be true.

Robot-assisted surgery

Robotic surgery is now really the present. The Best Cardiologists in India, often use the assistance of robots for the same. These surgeries are getting very popular in the USA and Europe. The most widely used clinical robotic surgical system includes a camera arm and mechanical arms with surgical instruments attached to them. The surgeon controls the arms while seated at a computer console near the operating table. The console gives the surgeon a high-definition, magnified, 3-D view of the surgical site. The surgeon leads other team members who assist during the operation.
